Privacy Policy

This policy describes how StreetValue (“we”, “us”) operates the website mystreetvalue.ca and related services (collectively, the “Service”), and how we handle personal information in connection with the Service. General rules for using the Services are in our Terms of Service.

The Service is operated in connection with real estate services provided by Bryon Bertrim, REALTOR®, an Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB) member. MLS® listing and sold data are provided under applicable CREA / OREB / PropTx licensing rules, including the Virtual Office Website (VOW) program where applicable.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

Property and intake information you provide or confirm (for example, address search inputs, property type, bedrooms, and similar fields used to generate a StreetValue™ range).
Contact and identity information when you register or unlock certain features (for example, name, email address, and Canadian mobile phone number for verification).
Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the Service (including through our hosting and security providers).
Communications you send to us (for example, support or compliance-related messages).

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

Provide, operate, and improve the Service (including AVM-style estimates and related UX).
Meet MLS® VOW and data-licence obligations (for example, registration, audit, and access controls before displaying certain sold data).
Send one-time or transactional messages (for example, SMS verification codes via our provider).
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable law.
Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage where permitted.

3. Third-party services and mapping

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including (for example) database, authentication, messaging, and hosting vendors. Address autocomplete and map imagery may be provided by Google Maps Platform; when you use those features, Google may process queries and related technical data under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Sharing with MLS® / PropTx / regulators

As described in our Terms of Use and, where applicable, MLS® VOW Terms, registration and access information may be shared with PropTx, OREB, or other parties for audit, compliance, or enforcement of data-licence terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

5. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, audit, and licence requirements, unless a longer period is required by law.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (including under Canadian privacy law), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal information, or to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to legal exceptions. To exercise these rights, contact us using the same channels you use to reach Bryon Bertrim, REALTOR® / StreetValue (for example, contact information shown on mystreetvalue.ca or in correspondence you receive from us). We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
